Dali Higa, a Chinese American, whose passion for art, appreciation and knowledge of art history coupled with her visionary spirit have been the cornerstone upon which The California Museum of Fine Art Collection is built.

Dali Higa is an accomplished artist in her own right and has always pursued life with a passion. Independence, creativity, curiosity and drive are traits that have enabled her to be successful throughout her life.

She maintains a daily discipline of painting and she has continued this daily regimen throughout her life.

Dali Higa’s art is a rich tapestry of technical mastery incorporating personal preferences founded within the traditional fundamental principles of art. Dali's ability to abstractly design compositions is unique. Her mastery of composition is strengthened by her controlled use of value. Her art is characterized by solid compositions, bold dynamic brush strokes, beautiful vibrant colors, and a distinctive artist’s style. There is a profound emotional attachment and sensitivity towards the subjects she paints.

Within her paintings are delicate tonal variations interwoven with rich vibrant colors and fluid brushwork which translate into a sense of spontaneity and movement.

Her art is based on solid principles of traditional art interwoven into her own honest, authentic, and relevant artistic sense.

Dali not only creates her own artwork but also collects outstanding pieces of art from other world class historic and contemporary artists. It is an impressive accomplishment to build such a remarkably diverse collection. The California Museum of Fine Art has thousands of paintings, sculptures, antiques and international art crafts. The purchase in 2018 of an historic 1928 red brick Romanesque Revival Church of Christ Scientist, a building designed by world class architect G.A. Howard Jr. was a God send. The building is exquisite. The museum’s design and its fine art collection reflect a keen awareness of the contributions that other artists have made throughout history and the importance to safeguard their fine art for future generations.

Dali’s remarkable ability to capture the essence and character of her subjects in their fleeting everyday moments shine a light on her artistic sensitivities.

As a consummate draftsman and brilliant painter, her passion for art, art appreciation and knowledge of art history and visionary spirit all stand as a testament to the boundless and expressive power of her art collection: Art that leaves an indelible mark on the global art scene.

Dali believes that art provides a platform for the exploration of diverse perspectives and ideas. It also enhances the aesthetics and intellectual fabric of society and serves as a powerful bridge, facilitating connections between different cultures and societies. Fine Art has the power to transcend language barriers, political boundaries, and societal divisions.

This collection of The California Museum of Fine Art (Dali Muse Fine Art) along with her personal original paintings are Dali Higa’s small contribution and her recognition of the value that art plays in society. Her collection provides a window into established historical traditions and beliefs, while fostering mutual understanding and cultural appreciation. It dissolves boundaries uniting people and builds bridges of empathy towards one another. The California Museum of Fine Art encourages us to appreciate and learn from the diverse and rich culmination of human experience available through art.
